The gigantic Rubber Duckie by Dutch artist Florentin Hofman floats around the world has no political message or grand scheme behind it; it was just made to make people feel better. The project was started in 2009 and has visited Osaka, Auckland, Hasselt, St. Nazaire, Sao Paulo, Elst, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Nurnberg, Wassenaar, and Amsterdam again.

Love this.

Garden Eels. By: Jérôme C

These animals use their rigid tail-tip to dig a burrow in the sand. They exude lots of mucus from the skin that helps cement the sand grains together so the burrow walls become stable. If danger approaches, they withdraw into their burrows, but when the potential threat disappears, the garden eels reappear.
